TRES LECHE DOUGHNUTS // The Kitchy Kitchen



These Tres Leche Doughnuts are a delicious twist on the classic Tres Leches cake. They are fluffy, moist, and soaked in a sweet tres leches sauce, making them a perfect treat for any occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Whipped cream optional, for garnish
  • Fresh berries optional, for garnish

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt

In another bowl, combine the whole milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter

Mix well

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined

Do not overmix

Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 350F 175C

Using a piping bag or spoon, carefully drop spoonfuls of the doughnut batter into the hot oil

Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side

Remove the doughnuts from the oil and drain on paper towels

In a separate bowl, mix together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and heavy cream to create the tres leches sauce

Dip each doughnut into the tres leches sauce, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side

Place the soaked doughnuts on a serving platter and dust with powdered sugar

Optionally, garnish with whipped cream and fresh berries

Serve immediately and enjoy your Tres Leche Doughnuts!
