Orange Honey Lavender Shortbread Cookies

Orange Honey Lavender Shortbread Cookies are a delicate and fragrant treat to enjoy on a relaxing afternoon. The addition of orange zest, honey, and dried lavender flowers to classic shortbread cookies creates a distinct flavor profile.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon dried lavender flowers
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Melt the butter and mix it with the powdered sugar in a bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy

Mix in the honey until it's well mixed in

The orange zest, dried lavender flowers, and salt should all be mixed in

Mix the dough until it holds together

Put the dough on a surface that has been lightly floured and roll it into a log

Cover the log with plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for at least an hour

Warm your oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet

Before putting the chilled dough log on the baking sheet, cut it into rounds that are 1/4 inch thick

For 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown, bake the cookies

After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way down

After the Orange Honey Lavender Shortbread Cookies have cooled, put them in a container that won't let air in

With a coffee or tea, these cookies are a great treat
